Welcome to the Irish Endocrine Society

Welcome to the Irish Endocrine Society Website. The Irish Endocrine Society is the professional body representing endocrinology in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Our Society consists of Endocrinologists and trainees in endocrinology based in Ireland predominantly but also from other countries. We have members from General Practice, Diabetes Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics and basic and medical scientists. The society has strong links with the Diabetes Federation of Ireland and Diabetes UK.

This Website went live in December 2006 and it is hoped to provide a means for keeping members up to date with meeting information and relevant news.

Message From The President of the Society
These are exciting times for endocrinology and diabetes in Ireland. Never before have there been so many opportunities within Ireland for individuals to enhance their professional development as well as promote their specialty. The IES is a key facilitator of these opportunities by bringing together clinicians and basic scientists whether they are beginning their careers or are working in senior positions. The common theme is furthering excellence in practice, education and research in an atmosphere that encourages participation and interaction. The Society values its place in a world wide family of endocrinologists which transcends boundaries. Significant time and resource have been committed by the Society to encourage members who wish to take up training and educational opportunities outside Ireland. We believe these will contribute to the advancement of the Society and its members, and will benefit the patients we care for.
